KT Waxman Elected Chair of DNP Dept. at USF
CINHC and California Simulation Alliance (CSA) Program Director, KT Waxman, DNP, MBA, RN, CNL, CENP, has been elected chair of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Department at the University of San Francisco (USF). Dr. Waxman will be responsible for the traditional DNP program, Executive Leader DNP (EL-DNP) program, and the DNP-FNP program. She is currently EL-DNP coordinator and teaches in the program as a full-time faculty member. Dr. Waxman also leads the CSA, which is an ongoing program through the CINHC.
Dr. Waxman is a multi-published author, whose book Finance and Business Skills for Doctor of Nursing Practice Students (Springer Publishing) comes out this fall. An international speaker on nursing leadership and clinical simulation, Dr. Waxman will be a keynote speaker at the September SimHealth 2012 Conference in Sydney, Australia and at the Leadership and Practice Development in Health in Tasmania, Australia in November. Her latest article, “The Evolution of a Statewide Network: The Bay Area Simulation collaborative” was published in December 2011 in the Journal for Simulation in Healthcare. She is currently the Co-Chair of the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Simulation in Nursing. Dr. Waxman is a past president of the Association for California Nurse Leaders (ACNL) and a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) international committee.
