Founded in 2002, the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to developing solutions to a critical nurse shortage and related nursing issues that affect the health of all Californians.  CINHC partners with California nursing leaders and health care organizations to develop practical solutions in four critical areas:

• Creating a statewide Master Plan to assure an adequate nursing supply.
• Expanding Educational Capacity to educate nurses and train a diverse workforce.
• Increasing the Workforce and its diversity through recrutiment and retention initiatives.
• Developing Nurse Leaders capable of meeting the challenges of a changing environment.
