Bay Area Nursing Resource Center

Funding from the Betty Irene Moore Nursing Initiative

This two-year, $1.77 million grant from the Betty Irene Moore Nursing Initiative supports the first phase of a program designed to expand the San Francisco Bay Area's existing nursing education capacity.

Nursing schools throughout San Francisco's nine counties currently face an unmet need for three key services: a centralized clinical placement system, faculty registry, and regional labs.

The grant will test and implement a Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) for nursing students during Phase I of this project.

Under this grant, strategic plans for a faculty registry and shared clinical simulation labs will also be developed.

Centralizing and sharing these services will help expand the educational capacity of 27 nursing schools and approximately 100 healthcare providers in the Bay Area. CCPS will be managed jointly by the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care, which will coordinate daily operations, and the Foundation for California Community Colleges, which will design the online CCPS system and serve as fiscal agent.
