Level 1 Training
Upon completing Level 1 Training, participants will understand simulation as a teaching strategy, understand the basics of a high-fidelity simulator, and be able to describe how to write a basic simulation scenario, explain why debriefing is an important component of simulation, and articulate the value of the California Simulation Alliance (CSA).
Level 2 Training
Level 2 Training is an interactive, hands-on course intended to help participants develop an understanding of simulation that will give them good basics from which to further develop. Participants will be able to understand the challenges and will have confidence to develop a sound strategy in program implementation. 13.5 CEs.
Prerequisite: Level 1 Training or commensurate experience.
Scenario Writing Workshop (Level 3)
Participants will be able to understand the CSA-approved scenario template, describe the scenario writing process, and translate storyboard to simulation scenario.
Prerequisite: Level 1 Training or commensurate experience. It is recommended, but not required, that the student has completed Level 2 prior to undertaking Level 3 courses.
Debriefing Workshop (Level 3)
Participants will be able to describe the importance of debriefing in simulation, develop skills to facilitate with unreceptive/non-participative students, and develop teaching to facilitate debriefing toward positive outcomes.
Prerequisite: Level 1 training or commensurate experience. It is recommended, but not required, that the student has completed Level 2 prior to undertaking Level 3 courses.
